Summary
4-Me-NEB (Bz-6379) is a cathinone stimulant sold as a research chemical, and has been detected in Japanese forensic surveys of "dangerous drug" herbal blends. Very limited human pharmacology data exists. User reports are highly variable: some batches appear largely inert below 100mg, while others enable prolonged wakefulness (48+ hours) with minimal euphoria but strong goal-directed focus, suggesting functional/ADHD-medication-like properties.
Dose Information
Dose basis. EXTRAPOLATED. Ranges inferred from closely related ethylcathinone-class stimulants (e.g., ethylcathinone; NEB/NEP reports) and typical cathinone potency. Always use a 0.001 g scale. Start at the low end due to batch variability and uncertain human potency. Insufflation is more caustic and carries higher compulsion; oral is generally lower-harm for cathinones. Evidence: Erowid ethylcathinone dose ranges; mephedrone health reports of nasal irritation/burning. EXTRAPOLATED. Many cathinones cause significant local irritation; small bumps and long spacing reduce tissue damage. Compulsion and rapid redosing risk are higher via this route. Consider liquid nasal rinses post-session. Evidence: Erowid mephedrone health notes and DrugWise cathinone risks highlighting nasal damage and compulsive redosing. The PsychonautWiki Journal logging app doesn't include every substance. To track 4-Me-NEB there, start adding an ingestion, search for the name, and choose to add it as a custom substance. Paste these values:
4-Me-NEB Source: SubstanceSearch (substancesearch.com) Oral dose (mg): threshold 20-40 Β· light 40-80 Β· common 80-140 Β· strong 140-220 Β· heavy 220+ Insufflated dose (mg): threshold 5 Β· light 5-20 Β· common 20-50 Β· strong 50-80 Β· heavy 80+ Oral duration: onset 15-45m Β· peak 1-2.5h Β· offset 2-3h Β· total 3.25-6.25h Β· after-effects 6-24h Insufflated duration: onset 3-10m Β· peak 1-2.5h Β· offset 2-3h Β· total 3.05-5.67h Β· after-effects 6-24h Note: ranges are harm-reduction guidance, not a prescription. Start low, go slow, and test your substances.
Tip: for quicker logging you can also add a Custom Unit in the app, e.g. common dose ~ 110 mg (Oral).
The app keeps custom substances simple, so the full dose ranges live in the description text above. Ranges are harm-reduction guidance, not a prescription.
Tolerance
Tolerance Decay
Acute tolerance: develops within a single session β the reset numbers above apply after sustained heavy use, not after one binge. Within-session tachyphylaxis usually resets largely overnight.
Anecdotal/theoretical: cathinones commonly show rapid within-session tolerance and partial crossβtolerance across the class, with decay over 1β3 weeks. Avoid multiβday use. Data quality low; based on mephedrone/NEP user reports and general stimulant patterns.
