Summary
CBDA is the raw acidic precursor of CBD found in fresh cannabis and hemp plants. Heating above 110ยฐC rapidly converts it to CBD via decarboxylation, so CBDA products must remain unheated to preserve potency. In vitro and animal research shows CBDA has approximately 100-fold greater affinity for the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor compared to CBD and exhibits selective COX-2 enzyme inhibition. These mechanisms underlie its reported anti-nausea, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. Human anecdotal reports describe a clear-headed, mildly uplifting effect without intoxication.
