Flunitrazepam is an extremely potent benzodiazepine, approximately 10 times stronger than diazepam by weight, with pronounced hypnotic and amnesic properties. It is notorious for its association with drug-facilitated sexual assault. The substance causes severe anterograde amnesia at therapeutic doses and can produce delusions of sobriety despite severe impairment.
