Aliases: 3,4-methylenedioxy-alpha-pyrrolidinohexiophenone, MD-PHP, monkey-dust
Summary
MDPHP (3,4-methylenedioxy-alpha-pyrrolidinohexiophenone) is a synthetic cathinone and pyrrolidine stimulant sold as a designer drug. It acts as a potent norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) with much weaker activity at the serotonin transporter. MDPHP is closely related to MDPV, differing by one additional carbon in the alkyl chain, and is reported to produce broadly similar but slightly milder stimulant effects; it appeared as a replacement in some markets after MDPV was scheduled. In the UK it is one of the substances sold under the street name 'monkey dust'. Dosing figures are tentative and batch potency varies considerably, so start low, allergy-test, and avoid redosing.

Add to PsychonautWiki Journal
The PsychonautWiki Journal logging app doesn't include every substance. To track MDPHP there, start adding an ingestion, search for the name, and choose to add it as a custom substance. Paste these values:
MDPHP Source: SubstanceSearch (substancesearch.com) Oral dose (mg): threshold 5-10 Β· light 10-20 Β· common 20-35 Β· strong 35+ Insufflated dose (mg): threshold 5 Β· light 5-10 Β· common 10-20 Β· strong 20+ Oral duration: onset 0.5-1h Β· total 3-6h Β· after-effects 2-16h Insufflated duration: onset 5-15m Β· total 2-4h Β· after-effects 2-36h Note: ranges are harm-reduction guidance, not a prescription. Start low, go slow, and test your substances.
Tip: for quicker logging you can also add a Custom Unit in the app, e.g. common dose ~ 27.5 mg (Oral).
The app keeps custom substances simple, so the full dose ranges live in the description text above. Ranges are harm-reduction guidance, not a prescription.
Tolerance
Tolerance Decay
Acute tolerance: develops within a single session β the reset numbers above apply after sustained heavy use, not after one binge. Within-session tachyphylaxis usually resets largely overnight.
Strong acute tolerance within a session with rapidly diminishing euphoria; interβsession tolerance decays over several days. Data are largely anecdotal from user reports across pyrrolidinophenones; individual variability is large.
